Yesterday the neurologist stopped by and was hoping that Ted was a little further along in his progress. He decided to give him some steroids to "jump start" the progress a bit. Ted's response: "Oh no...I won't be able to race anymore...I'll be illegal!"
He had his 4th IVIG treatment last night and while he didn't feel the sensations that he felt during the 3rd treatment, the doctor this morning noticed a little more movement in his feet. The other bit of good news is that they have given him a non-narcotic pain killer and he is able to rest a little more. He really needed some sleep!
Thanks to everyone for your comments on this blog and your emails. I read them all to Ted and he really enjoys hearing them. We are both so amazed how word has traveled so quickly and so far.
Tonight will be our 5th treatment of the IVIG and we'll probably have more news about next steps after that. Again, we are so grateful for your thoughts and prayers.
Cate

Hi Ted & Cate,
ReplyDeleteOh my, so we're still worried about racing. I'm all for having goals, but let's focus on the short term, shall we :-)

Ted,
ReplyDeleteWe have been keeping up with your progress and hope you rehab quickly. As far as your steroid use and future competition, we will never tell.
